My father's name was Michael Maynard. U.S. Marine Corps, 1st Battalion, 5th Marines. September 14th, 2007. Iraq. Baghdad. Two mortar rounds that day. My mom said the man who showed up at our door stood there holding his cover for a long time before he said anything. She already knew. I was eleven years old.
I ended up joining too. Maybe I wanted to feel close to him. Maybe I thought I would be luckier. I came back alive — just covered in burns. My mom never once acted like I was hard to look at. Even at my lowest, she simply said, "It's okay. Mom’s here."
Now she’s going through chemo. Last week she was sick all day. When she finally fell asleep, she was still holding my hand. I sat beside her bed thinking about how my father never got to see me grow up, never got to see the things I could build, paint, and create.
Then I thought: my father didn’t make it home. But my mother is still here. So I go to my garage every day and keep making these wind chimes — one after another. Not because of money. Because my father isn’t here to care for her to the end.
I still can.
I'm not too late.
THE SOUND OF PEACE
The first thing you'll notice isn't just how it looks.
It's how it sounds.
When a gentle breeze passes through, the chimes produce a soft, low tone — not sharp, not noisy, not overwhelming.
Just a calm, comforting sound that seems to slow everything down for a moment.
Many customers hang theirs on a porch, beside a garden path, or near an open window where they can hear it while enjoying a quiet morning coffee.
It’s the kind of sound that reminds you to breathe, pause, and enjoy where you are.
MADE FROM REAL WORKING HORSESHOES
Before it became a wind chime, each horseshoe lived a different life. Some came from trail horses, some from family farms, and others spent years carrying riders across country roads and open fields. Instead of being left behind as scrap metal, these retired horseshoes are cleaned, shaped, and given a second purpose.
You may still notice worn nail holes, weather marks, and signs of use. Those aren’t imperfections — they’re proof the horseshoe earned its story.
A HEART THAT MEANS MORE
The heart shape wasn’t chosen by accident.
To me, it represents the people we hold onto when life becomes difficult — a spouse, a parent, a lifelong friend, someone we miss, or someone we pray for.
Every wind chime carries that simple reminder: love is often the reason we keep going. And sometimes a gentle sound in the wind is enough to bring those memories back.
CRAFTED ONE AT A TIME
Each wind chime is carefully prepared one at a time. Every horseshoe is inspected, cleaned, shaped, and assembled individually.
Because every horseshoe is different, no two wind chimes are ever exactly alike. That’s part of what makes each one special.
You’re not bringing home something mass-produced. You’re bringing home a piece with its own history.
A BEAUTIFUL ADDITION TO ANY HOME
Because the tone is soft and relaxing, it works beautifully in many spaces.
✓ On a front porch
✓ In a flower garden
✓ Near a favorite sitting spot
✓ Beside a barn or stable
✓ Near a window
✓ On a backyard fence
Wherever the wind can find it, the chime will do the rest.

• Garden Enthusiasts
• Retirees
• Friends Going Through Difficult Times
• Anyone Who Appreciates Thoughtful Craftsmanship
Sometimes the best gifts don’t say much.
They simply remind someone that they’re loved.
MORE THAN A WIND CHIME
More than recycled metal. More than a decoration. More than a heart shaped from a horseshoe.
This wind chime is a reminder that beautiful things can come from forgotten things — and that every breeze can carry something good.
For me, every chime means one more day of hope for my mother. If you take one home, you’re not just hanging art on your porch — you’re helping a soldier hold on to the person who never gave up on him.
May it bring peace to your home. And thank you for giving me another day with mine. 🙏
